What should I expect during my BHRT Appointment?

Consultation

The first phase of your treatment starts with a consultation with Dr. Katie Boyle to discuss your symptoms, treatment goals, and medical history. Labs are ordered after a focused physical exam.

Treatment Plan

A customized treatment plan with pellets, creams, or pills will be developed based on your symptoms, history, and labs. This will vary from patient to patient.

Administration

The preferred delivery method uses pellets, which are administered via a small incision in the skin just above the glute region. The area is sterilized and numbed prior to insertion.

Postcare

Dr. Katie Boyle will give you aftercare instructions that should be followed in order to ensure pellets remain in place and the insertion site heals well.

Our bodies naturally start to reduce the amount of hormones like testosterone and estrogen they produce as we grow older. These hormones are essential for many areas of your body to function properly, such as your brain, heart, bones, reproductive organs, and more. When these hormones are out of balance, people can experience a number of different symptoms. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a method of restoring the balance of your hormones and aiming to relieve these symptoms, using compounded hormones that are identical in structure to those your body naturally produces. That way, your body recognizes and uses these replacement hormones in exactly the same way it would hormones it produces naturally.
