What should I expect during my Injectable Filler Appointment?

Consultation

Treatment Plan
After establishing the treatment plan and the number of required syringes, the area of concern is marked with a skin-safe marker and then sterilized.

Administration
A tiny hollow needle or cannula is used for Filler injections. The treatment may come with some discomfort, described as a pinching sensation with pressure.

Postcare
Dr. Katie Boyle will give you aftercare instructions that should be followed in order to ensure that the filler settles properly without any side effects.

Dermal Fillers
There are many fillers to choose from, and sometimes it can be difficult to determine which filler is right for you. Here are a few tips to point you in the right direction. Don’t worry, though, because Dr. Katie evaluates each of her patients in person, determines their specific cosmetic concerns, provides a list of recommendations, and creates a customized cosmetic treatment. She offers all of the latest FDA-approved dermal fillers and is always adding newer fillers to her practice as they are approved.
Brands
- Juvéderm Fillers – These fillers are the most popular hyaluronic acid-based fillers. They are ideal for treating a range of aesthetic concerns including lines, folds, and volume loss.
- Restylane Family of Fillers – Similar to Juvederm, Restylane softens lines and wrinkles.
- Belotero – Silky consistency for superficial lines and undereye dark circles and volume loss.
- Radiesse – Tiny beads of calcium hydroxylapatite provide immediate volume and stimulate the ongoing production of fresh collagen and elastin.
- Sculptra – Poly-L-lactic acid is great for pan-facial revolumization. It stimulates your body to produce its own collagen for gradual, long-lasting rejuvenation.

Treatment Areas
- Forehead lines – for deep lines on the forehead which Botox itself cannot completely treat
- Lips (lipstick lines, upper lip lines) – add volume to lips, hydrate lips, soften lines
- Marionette lines – Soften the shadows below the corners of the mouth
- Nasolabial folds – fill in smile lines
- Cheeks – restore volume to the cheeks, lift the face, and emphasize the cheekbones
- Jawline – sharpen the jawline and minimize the appearance of the jowls
- Undereyes – improve dark circles caused by volume loss and prominent tear troughs
- Temples – reinvigorate the temples to improve the look around eyes and brows and improve facial contours
- Collagen Induction Therapy – fillers are used not to fill but to make skin produce collagen and elastin. This can be used on many areas all over the face and body
