About the Author
I won the Ovarian Lottery. Simply put, I was fortunate enough to be the son of a great mom and
dad.
My dad is my hero, a true icon. He quit high school as a senior, where he was going to be the valedictorian, to join the US Navy to help support his family after the death of my grandfather. He was one of Eight Children.
He went on to complete a GED and at the end of his career retired as the head of healthcare marketing for a large very famous computer company. His greatest accomplishment was being a dedicated husband to my mom; and the best father to myself, my brother and my sister.
With my parents’ continued support and encouragement, I graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. U Mass, being an agricultural college, did not have a biology degree. Zoology is a combination of biology and botany and prepared me for my next step, medical school.
I was blessed to have been accepted to Hahnemann University School of Medicine now Drexel University College of Medicine and completed my studies with induction into the Alpha Omega alpha Honor Society.
I completed my residency education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (The great city of Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love) and completed three years of internal medicine residency training and a chief medical resident year.
I dedicated the next 30 years to patient care in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where I made many friends and met my beautiful wife, Katie.
In 2014 Katie changed her career focus to Aesthetics medicine and I took my first CMO role (Chief Medical Officer) for a large hospital in Florida. Several years later I became the CMO for the state of Florida for a different large hospital system. Now semi-retired, I am focused on quality and patient safety supporting hospitals in a consulting role. When I am free I like to spend a little time relaxing, I like to fish.
