What should I expect during my Ultherapy® Appointment?

Administration
Ultrasound energy is used to visualize tissue depths that will be targeted. Ultrasound gel is applied and then the transducer is placed on the skin and energy is delivered. It is often described as a warm and tingly sensation.
Postcare
There are no postcare restrictions or requirements and patients can return to normal activities. Some patients experience redness, swelling, tingling or tenderness but these are typically mild and temporary.
Ultherapy
Ultherapy® uses microfocused ultrasound to generate a thermal effect under the skin. This effect essentially jump-starts your body’s own process to create fresh, new collagen.
How it Works
As a natural protein, collagen works to give skin its youthfulness by keeping it firm and toned. As we age, collagen breaks down, and the result is a loss of skin strength and elasticity. That’s where Ultherapy steps in and lifts up, through ultrasound therapy.
Results
The proven results of Ultherapy are clear, appearing over two to three months as new collagen works to lift skin on the neck, chin, and brow—as well as smooth skin on the upper chest. Results may improve over the following three to six months and can last a year or more. Ultherapy can precisely target at depths up to 4.5 mm, the same as surgery. This modality treats substantially deeper than other non-invasive procedures. It won’t duplicate the results of a surgical facelift, but Ultherapy is a clinically proven non-invasive alternative for those not ready for surgery.
Comfort
We use Pro-Nox™ which is a 50 /50 mix of Oxygen and Nitrous Oxide. Many aesthetic practices incorporate Pro-Nox™ to help ease patient’s pain and anxiety. The Pro-Nox™ System is an effective analgesic that provides quick pain relief and recovery, all while giving the patient a sense of control. It takes effect within seconds and leaves the body within minutes, meaning the patient can drive themselves to and from the appointment.
